There are a number of reasons why a tree may need to be removed: it may be dead or diseased, it may have decay which makes it unstable, or it may simply be growing in an unsuitable location. Whichever it is, we are qualified to carefully dismantle trees in sections to avoid damaging the surrounding area, or fell trees precisely if there is room to do so. 

• Hedge trimming

We have all the equipment and skills necessary to carry out all types of hedge work. From large hedge height reductions to annual maintenance trimming, we always leave hedges as neat and tidy as possible.

• Tree pruning

We take pride in ensuring the trees we prune are left looking natural and well balanced. There are various ways in which a tree can be pruned (the terms we use are crown reductions, crown thinning, crown lifting or dead-wooding). Every case is individual and we will advise you of the most appropriate action upon viewing each tree.

• Pollarding

Pollarding is a practice that involves removing smaller branches and shoots of trees. This results in a ‘knuckle-like’ appearance. Trees are generally pollarded in more urban environments to prevent them from outgrowing their surroundings, to minimise the amount of shade cast by the tree, to maintain views or to avoid overhead issues such as power cables.

• Health and risk assessments

We can advise you on the health of your trees and any potential risks. This is generally included when quoting. However, if you are concerned about a larger tree, we are also able to do a climbing inspection to get a closer look at the structure of the tree.
